Voltage fluctuations in Tanzania’s power grid commonly reach ±15%, and in some areas even exceed ±20%. Therefore, we recommend selecting transformers with an input voltage range covering 280V–460V and with voltage surge buffering capability to handle the impact from starting and stopping large equipment in mining areas.
Under Tanzania’s tropical climate, coastal areas suffer heavy salt spray, the dry season brings lots of dust, and the rainy season has high humidity. Fully sealed oil-immersed transformers offer excellent heat dissipation, dust and moisture resistance, corrosion protection, and low maintenance costs – making them very suitable for the local environment. The recommended protection rating is at least IP54, and IP55 for mining areas.
The nominal grid voltage in Tanzania is 400V, but a large number of imported machines (from China and Europe) are rated at 380V. We can provide transformers with 400V→380V conversion capability or matching voltage stabilizers to solve this common “voltage mismatch” problem.
